Over Christmas and New Year's, we took two weeks off to travel around Europe, visiting some cities and countries we'd never been to before. We started by flying into Munich around dinnertime on Friday, December 22nd (we had school that morning!), taking the Lufthansa bus to the city center (I found that buying round-trip tickets for the bus was cheaper than taking the S-Bahn), checking into our hotel, bundling up, and heading straight for the Christmas markets.
Well we're inching along to five years of marriage at this point, seeing how it's mid-February right now, but on January 3rd we celebrated the 4th anniversary of our marriage! We were in Colorado for two weeks over Christmas and New Year's (see all about it here) and so we didn't go away for the night or anything this year, but we did have some rather nice celebrations.
We had the opportunity to spend a week in beautiful, sunny Malta over New Year's, and while we took trips around the island to a few different towns, we spent the majority of our time in Golden Bay. My grandparents allowed us to use their timeshare at the Radisson Blu Resort Golden Sands - and wow - what a gift. We spent a week overlooking the Mediterranean Sea, listening to the waves crash into the rocks, and taking little walks along the beach.
