Typically winters in Madrid are pretty mild.  One decent jacket is usually enough to get you through, and we've found anything else is hardly necessary aside for the occasional cold snap here and there.  We've never had snow during our three winters here, save for a few flurries one day last year, but this week that all changed.

It feels like it was almost another lifetime ago, but a month ago we were in Venice.  In my mind, I tried to set very low expectations for the city, as I feel like it's a place that's fairly hyped up and iconic.  I feel like I'm almost always disappointed when I have high expectations, so I kept them low, and despite the freezing cold temperatures, Venice was amazing.

Making: plans for the summer.  How can it be?!   I've started penciling in a few things here and there but it just feels crazy to be looking at July and August right now.

Cooking: tonight?  Nothing!  Danny has an interview over dinner so I think I'm scavenging - toast, crackers, cereal - whatever's easy and around the house.

Making – my way through our overflowing laundry basket from our three-week trip – at last!

Cooking – last night, vegetable soup – it rained on and off all afternoon so we were definitely in the mood for some cozy soup and bread.
